Active Travel Consultation Reports Published

The Reports in to the Active Travel Consultations on Fowlmere Road (between Fowlmere and Foxton) and Mill Road/Fowlmere Road (between Fowlmere and Melbourn via the RSPB) have been published showing strong support on both routes for Active Travel improvements. The data gathered will be used to help prioritise improvements moving forward.

The survey opened in mid-December 2025 and ran for three months until late March 2026.

The Fowlmere to Foxton report can be viewed here with the following headline results:

·                65% of respondents would cycle more along the route if measures were introduced to improve active travel conditions

·                51% of respondents would walk more along the route if measures were introduced to improve active travel conditions

·                53% of respondents would consider changing their transport mode from car or other motorised vehicle to active travel, if active travel measures were introduced along the route

·                93% of respondents would support a type of active travel measure being introduced along the route

·                68% of respondents would consider separating active travel users from vehicles as the most important measure to be introduced

The Fowlmere to Melbourn via RSPB report can be viewed here with the following headlines results:

·       66% of respondents would cycle more along the route if measures were introduced to improve active travel conditions

·       51% of respondents would walk more along the route if measures were introduced to improve active travel conditions

·       47% of respondents would consider changing their transport mode from car or other motorised vehicle to active travel if active travel measures were introduced along the route

·       90% of respondents would support a type of active travel measure being introduced along the route

·       59% of respondents would consider separating active travel users from vehicles as the most important measure to be introduced
