Did you know about 500 tonnes of small electrical appliances are put into black bins in our area every year? We’re trying to help bring this down and from now until November we’ll have our own pink e-waste bin for recycling small electrical items in Fowlmere.
Things like old hairdryers, phones, laptops, kettles and cables can be brought to the bin on the High Street opposite The Chequers pub. Items need to fit through a slot about the size of an A4 piece of paper.
Items with built in batteries are okay to be recycled but please recycle loose removal batteries in the normal way in a with your weekly bin collection.
Items will be taken to Wiser Recycling in Thetford to be sorted and dismantled, and the parts re-used or recycled.
The bins cannot accept vapes, smoke alarms or light bulbs.
