James was co-opted onto the Parish Council in 2020 and has been re-elected in 2022 and 2026.
James has lived in Fowlmere since 2007 with his wife and two children, both of whom attended the village school. As a parent volunteer he founded and ran the school Code Club. He directed Fowlmere-based choir The Ad Hoc Singers, giving regular fundraising concerts for local charities including the Friends of St Mary’s and is involved in many other local musical activities. He is particularly interested in improving local public transport and cycling facilities and has been working on installing cycle stands in Fowlmere and surrounding villages. He is a Principal Research Scientist at Schlumberger Cambridge Research.
James is also District Councillor for Foxton Ward (which includes Fowlmere).
