Restored WI bench returns to The Butts
The metal WI bench at the top of The Butts has returned after being restored to as good as new. First installed in 1965 to mark the 50th anniversary of the WI, the 60 year old bench has been straightened, strengthened and given a shiny new green repaint to bring it back to life.

The much loved green metal WI bench at the top of The Butts has returned after restoration. First installed in 1965 to mark the 50th anniversary of the WI, the 60 year old bench has been straightened, strengthened and given a shiny new green repaint to bring it back to life. The original plaque has also been given a good polish and we think it looks wonderful in the spring sunshine. The bench is remarkably comfortable so next time you are passing take a seat and let the world pass by for a few minutes.
